Tuesday 17th April will be the 66th anniversary of the Syrian Independence, so the International Federation of Human Rights Leagues and the Human Rights League in France have organized an event called "the white wave". That day, at 7 p.m. and until 7:30 p.m., these organizations invite people to hold a white banner/paper with the word "STOP" written on it ; please feel free to do so and organize an event in your area of the world :) ! About the cease-fire

The "peace" plan is more like a "rest in peace" plan...

A cease-fire was supposed to become effective the 10th April 2012 in Syria, but as excpected, that did not happen. The UN gave Syria a new deadline, the 12th April, yesterday. And yesterday in the morning, things had apparently calmed down in Syria, except in Homs where the old part of the city was still being shelled (how surprising !). There still were weapons and tanks in the cities, which led Hillary Clinton to say "The Annan plan is not a menu of options. It is a set of obligations." Someone else said "We cannot call what is happening on the ground a full cease-fire." Once again, the UN plan concerning Syria has failed. The next step is now to deploy unarmed observers in the country, which last time did not make any good.

Violations of the cease-fire

"The first violation of the ceasefire occurred in Zabadani, in the Damascus Suburbs, when shelling that had begun in the Al Zalah area at 5:50 this morning continued up to 6:20, twenty minutes past the ceasefire deadline. At least five shells reportedly fell on Al Barada Street and the Al Zalah areas. Citizen journalists reported that the sounds were extremely loud yet there was no confirmation on the types of machinery used. One citizen journalist said: “houses in our area were shaken to their very core, so it must have been tank fire”.

The second violation occurred in Jabal Shahshabo, a mountain between Qalaat Al Madiq in Hama and Jabal Al Zawiyeh. Three shells landed on the mountain at 6:30 this morning. The mountain stretches across both the Hama and the Idlib governorates. The shells fell within the Hama governorate.

The third violation was confirmed through independent sources from Homs. Shells fell on Hama Road (Tareeq Hama), between the neighbourhoods of Jouret Shiyah and Khaldiyeh, at 8:47 local time. The shell originated from the Paint Factory on Mimas Road, close to the entrance of the neighbourhood of Al Waer. Prior to the shelling, gunfire was heard at 6:25 and at 7:36. The location of the gunfire is still unconfirmed. At 9:05, three more rounds of gunfire were heard by a citizen journalist in Khaldiyeh, reportedly coming from Tareeq Hama, close to where the shells had fallen.
The fourth violation was recorded after 9:00 local time in Idlib. At this time, activists report that heavy machine gunfire can still be heard in Idlib city, coming from the direction of the Farmers' Station." Syrian Days of Rage

An Iranian admitted taking part in the slaughter in Syria. More in french below.

The Syrian refugee camp Killis, based in Turkey at about 100 meters of the Syrian border, was attacked 9th April by the Syrian army. At least 5 were wounded, not sure about how many dead : I heard 4 at first, then 3, then 2. Video here.
Syrian troops have fired across the border in Turkey, but in Lebanon too, where a journalist was killed.

Reema Dali was arrested the 9th of April for holding red material with the slogan "Stop the slaughter. We want to build a country for all Syrians." in front of the Parliament in Syria (I heard she was released, but two others are still in jail). More did the same the following day. The regime's reaction (arresting these demonstrators) is very interesting, knowing that nothing else than "Stop the slaughter." was written... Feel blamed, Assad ?

Most of the revolutions are internal affairs between the population and the government, except in Syria... The Syrian revolution is becoming a fight between Syrian people and the regime, and Russia, and China, and Iran, and Iraq, and the Hezbollah, and all those who have interests in Syria... Le jeudi 17 avril sera le 66ème anniversaire de l'indépendance syrienne, alors la Fédération Internationale des Ligues des Droits de l'Homme et la Ligue des Droits de l'Homme ont organisés un événement appelé "la vague blanche". Ce jour-là, entre 19h et 19h30, ces organisations invitent les gens à lever une bannière/une feuille de papier blanche avec le mot "STOP" écrit dessus ; sentez-vous libres d'y participer et d'organiser un événement près de chez vous :) ! A propos du cessez-le-feu

Le plan de "paix" ressemble plutôt à un plan "repose en paix"...

Le cessez-le-feu était censé prendre effet le 10 avril 2012 en Syrie, mais comme on pouvait s'y attendre, cela n'a guère eu lieu. L'ONU a donné un nouveau délai à la Syrie, le 12 avril, hier. Et hier dans la matinée, les choses s'étaient apparemment calmées en Syrie, excepté à Homs, où la vieille ville se faisait encore bombarder (comme c'est surprenant !). Il y avait encore des armes et des tanks dans les villes, ce qui a conduit Hillary Clinton à dire "Le plan Annan n'est pas un menu d'options. C'est un ensemble d'obligations." Quelqu'un d'autre a dit "On ne peut pas appeler ce qu'il se passe sur le terrain un cessez-le-feu complet." Une fois de plus, le plan de l'ONU concernant la Syrie a échoué. La prochaine étape est maintenant de déployer des observateurs non-armés dans le pays, ce qui n'a pas été très utile la dernière fois.

Violations du cessez-le-feu :

La deuxième violation a eu lieu à Jabal Shahshabo, une montagne entre Qalaat Al Madiq à Hama et Jabal Al Zawiyeh. Trois obus ont atterri sur la montagne à 6h30 du matin. La montagne s'étend entre les gouvernorats de Hama et Idleb. Les obus ont atteri du côté de Hama.

La troisième violation a été confirmée par des sources indépendantes de Homs. Des obus sont tombés sur la route de Hama (Tareeq Hama), entre les voisinages de Jouret Shiyah et Khaldiye, à 8h47 heure locale. L'obus venait de l'usine de peinture sur la rue Mimas, près du quartier d'Al Waer. Avant les bombardements, des tirs ont été entendus à 6h25 et 7h36 (l'emplacement n'est pas encore confirmé). A 9h05, trois autres fusillades ont été entendues par un citoyen journaliste à Al Khaldiye, supposément originaires de la route de Hama, près de là où ont atterri les obus.

La quatrième violation a été enregistrée après 9h00 heure locale à Idleb. Les activistes ont rapportés que des fusillades pouvaient encore être entendues à Idleb." Syrian Days of Rage

Le camps de réfugiés syrien Killis, basé en Turquie à environ 100 mètres de la frontière syrienne, a été attaqué le 9 avril par l'armée syrienne. Au moins 5 personnes ont été blessées, je ne suis pas certaine du nombre de morts : j'ai entendu 4 au début, puis 3, puis 2. Vidéo ici.

La Turquie a statué morte l'initiative de paix en Syrie après que des troupes syriennes ont ouvert le feu à travers la frontière, tant en Turquie qu'au Liban, où un journaliste a été tué.

Reema Dali a été arrêtée le 9 avril pour avoir tenu une banderole rouge avec le slogan "Arrêtez le massacre. On veut construire un pays pour tous les Syriens." devant le Parlement en Syrie (j'ai entendu qu'elle avait été relâchée, mais que deux autres étaient encore en prison). Plus ont suivi le jour suivant. La réaction du régime (arrêter les manifestants) est très intéressante, sachant que rien d'autre que "Arrêtez le massacre." n'était écrit sur les banderoles... Assad se sentirait-il concerné ?

La plupart des révolutions sont des affaires internes entre le peuple et le gouvernement, sauf en Syrie... La révolution syrienne devient une combat entre le peuple syrien et le régime, et la Russie, et la Chine, et l'Iran, et l'Iraq, et le Hezbollah, et tout ceux qui ont des intérêts en Syrie...
