Annan plan

Here is Annan's six-point-plan, if you've not seen it :

1. Syrian-led political process to address the aspirations and concerns of the Syrian people

2. UN-supervised cessation of armed violence in all its forms by all parties to protect civilians

3. All parties to ensure provision of humanitarian assistance to all areas affected by the fighting, and implement a daily two-hour humanitarian pause

4. Authorities to intensify the pace and scale of release of arbitrarily detained persons

5. Authorities to ensure freedom of movement throughout the country for journalists

6. Authorities to respect freedom of association and the right to demonstrate peacefully

I don't know about you, but I don't think Assad will follow any of them, even though he agreed to (and even though that would make him look like the good guy in front of the International Community). Add to this that there's no timetable included... And the second point asks for the cessation of violence on both sides, but has any of them ever heard about self-defence ? We've been demonstrating peacefully for months, and no one helped us, no one is helping us, so what choice did we have ? What choice do we have now ?
Assad announced he wouldn't remove the army from the surrounded city until everything has calmed down, this means until the uprising has been stopped, so he's clearly buying time. The "Friends of Syria" (all the 83 countries) agreed to support the Annan plan and to recognize the SCN as one (not "the", "one"...) legitimate representative of the Syrian people, some of them have even given money to the SNC to give a salary to the members of the Free Syrian Army. They've also called the Syrian soldiers not to follow orders when it comes to killing people. What about the Buffer Zone and the No-Fly Zone ? What about really helping the Free Syrian Army ? A lot of Syrians are disappointed and do no see the end of it anymore. Suhair Atassi added that, at the "Friends of Syria" meeting, they did not even have the Syrian revolutionnary flag, so what "friends" are we talking about ?

"If Mr. Assad’s government — like his father’s, which preceded it — is prepared to kill thousands of its own citizens to stay in power, it’s certainly prepared to be as tough and as uncompromising in any political process."

These are the official numbers, reality is way worse
