The Arab League About two weeks ago, Assad promised the Arab League he would stop the slaughter in Syria. He didn't stand by his promise, which led the Arab League to suspend Syria's membership. Assad then demanded an emergency meeting, wanting to reverse this decision. But the Arab League needed the agreement of 14 countries to let this meeting take place ; but Assad's security forces attacked some embassies, pissing these countries off. Some of them, like France and Germany, already wihdrew their ambassadors [Finally !!! We have asked for this for so long !]. The problem is that almost none of the Arab countries wants to recognize the Syrian National Council, pretending it's too early. Don't they want to give the SNC a chance to show what it's capable of ?
